October 2018 will be celebrated as Innovation Month at ISWP
To nurture the culture of innovation across our value chain, the month of October 2018 will be celebrated as Innovation Month at ISWP. Inaugurated on 4th Oct'18 by Mr. Neeraj Kant, MD, ISWP, this month will witness a series of events for the employees enabling them to exhibit their creative side.
3rd Edition of "Samvad Session"
A forum titled "Samvad" for interaction between Union Members and the Management was organized on 6th September 2018, wherein the management communicated the business performance and long term plans of the company to the Union. The guest speaker for the event was Mr. Suresh Dutt Tripathy, VP-HRM, Tata Steel who elaborated on the essentiality of innovation at work place and how it can be leveraged for business performance improvement.
Mr. S. Padmanabhan, Executive Chairman, TBExG made a visit to ISWPL on 21 Aug 2018.
He interacted with the Senior Leadership Team, Union President, and General Secretaries. He went through the operation process of Rod Mill & Wire Mill and got the flavor of the improvements undertaken, during the shop floor visit.
Inauguration of Roof-top Solar Panels:
Taking a step forward towards environment sustainability through usage of renewable energy, ISWP has commissioned 10 kW Roof-top Grid Tie Solar System within its works premises.
Tata Edge Webinar by Mr. Neeraj Kant, MD, ISWP:
Tata Business Excellence Group (TBExG) has selected ISWP's educational intervention at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Potka as the subject for its Webinar (TAAP Series).
Mr. Neeraj Kant, through this webinar, has shed light on the passionate efforts made by ISWP in improving the lives of underprivileged girls and impact of such endeavours over the years.
Beat Plastic Pollution
With "Beat Plastic Pollution" as the theme, the World Environment Day celebration for this year was inaugurated at ISWPL with oath taking ceremony under the leadership of Mr. Neeraj Kant, MD and Mr. Rakeshwar Pandey, Union President. Several events / contests were conducted throughout the month to propagate the idea of protecting our earth, its flora and fauna, through curbing the negative impacts of plastic pollution.

Wires - New Project
The project of Binding wire was successfully commissioned at JEMCO location. The first consignment of the product was flagged off by Chairman, Mr Sunil Bhaskaran on 2nd of April 2018.
The company underwent Tata Affirmative Action Program (TAAP) Assessment in which team of experienced assessors from other Tata Group company assesses our Affirmative Actions initiatives in the area of Education, Employability, Employment and Entrepreneurship. The company got a score band jump to 451-475 from previous band of 426-450 in 2017.
New heights were defined in Wire Mill by producing highest ever cumulative annual wire drawing of 55,671 MT in FY 18, surpassing the previous best of 53,772 MT in FY'17. This achievement was only possible with the effort put by vibrant and energetic team of Wire Mill.
Naval Tata Hockey Academy
The Naval Tata Hockey Academy, located at Indian Steel and Wire Products (ISWP) Sports Complex near Telco was finally inaugurated on 2nd March 2018. Ratan N. Tata, chairman of Tata Trusts, completed the formalities in presence of Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran, Tata Steel global CEO T.V. Narendran, vice-president (corporate services) Sunil Bhaskaran, Dutch hockey legend Floris Jan Bovelander and MD (ISWP) Mr Neeraj Kant. At present, there are 24 cadets (14-16 age group) from Khunti, Simdega and West Singhbhum who have been trained by Dutch coaches and Indian hockey legend Sandeep Singh.
