The Wire Rod Mill (WRM) of ISWP produces Wire Rods and TMT Rebars (Thermo Mechanically Treated) from Billets supplied by Tata Steel. It has the capacity / feasibility to produce low/medium carbon material in the diameter range of 5.5 mm to 14 mm.

The ISWP Wire Rod Mill is the proud producer of TATA TISCON TMT Rebars in various grades like SD, 500D, etc. It also produces Wire Rods, primarily upto 7mm) which are further drawn at the Wire Mill of ISWP to produce wires which are marketed and sold under the brand name of WIRON.

Core Competency
Our Wire Rod Mill produces Wire Rods which have better drawability even through a mechanical descaling route. It produces TMT in coil form and these coils are decoiled and straightened into fixed length TMT Bars at our De-coiling and Straightening unit. ISWP is the only producer of TMT 6mm in India. Many other producers who manufacture 6mm either produce it through cold drawing process or they sell Ribbed Bars which do not have TMT properties.
